“Leading in a Storm” is a 12”x12” oil painting that sold December 2020 at Westland Gallery in London. This painting was inspired by the community leaders who were taking their people through the storm of the pandemic one brave step at a time. Leaders take the brunt of each storm their families, churches, communities, organizations, and countries face. COVID has forced many leaders to take on additional strain to help their people survive and thrive in the headwind. I admire them for their tenacity, perseverance, and strength. It inspired me to paint this emotional cloudscape, trying to capture what it must feel like to be a leader in the midst of the pandemic: the fear and the courage, the despair and the hope, the obstacles and the grit.
